Who We Are

A UUA Men's Group was formed at Atkinson in the fall of 2001. It began as a gathering of a few men, meeting twice a month, to discuss issues pertinent to them, to find support and a connection to other men at the church, and to learn how they could take a non-passive role in our church and its activities.

Our foundation is grounded in respect, and honoring diversity and perspective, between its members and the members of the church. The group is quite diverse. Ages range from 20 to 80, we come from all walks of life, various skills & professions, married, unmarried and widowed, with babies to kids that have long flown the nest, and yet at the end of the day we have found solid common ground.

We have some very interesting and lively group discussions. And of course, as any grown man will tell you, we need, and frequently do, have fun. The list of what we have accomplished to date would take more time than we have available.

So, to men of Atkinson, come join us on any 2nd and/or 4th Monday at 7:30 pm downstairs for a lively time. If you have any questions about the men's group, you can contact either Ken Douglas or Chuck Powers.
