Purpose:
To promote social justice and to increase Atkinson's social action presence in the south metro area.

Responsibilities:
To plan and implement social action projects, e.g. the Welcoming Congregation program, HOPE food pantry, Guest At Your Table, Oregon City Congregations Emergency Fund, etc.

Social Action also provides resources for those in the congregation who want to be advocates for other special issues. Through the AMC Bookstore, located in the Dome Room, SAC will provide literature and willing helpers to seek out information on social concerns.
