- To create an environment in which to explore world religions while remaining grounded in responsibility, ethics, and morality;
- To celebrate the children of our church through ritual, tradition, and fun;
- To encourage social action to expand our awareness and to live our liberal religion in the world.
Description:
Seeking religious education is one of the many important considerations when selecting a church community for both children and parents. Parents who make the commitment to bring their children regularly to religious education classes help them to develop a deeper understanding of Unitarian Universalism and provide them with the opportunity to find their religious center. The children benefit not only from the wide offering of teachings, but also from the connections with peers and mentors from their religious community.
The heart of our religious education program is the corps of volunteers and staff who create dynamic experiences for our children and adults. Unitarian Universalist curriculums are selected each year in cooperation with the religious education committee and classroom teachers. The religious education program is an integral part of the vitality of Atkinson Memorial Church. Welcome to our community.
